What is here
A place to build, and people to build with
3D worlds
Worlds are divided into lots. You get given some, you build on them, and nobody else can touch them — ownership is held by the server, not by etiquette. Building happens in the world itself, while other people are standing next to you.
Your own server
Every world is its own process on its own port, run from a downloadable World Server package. A world stays up on its own terms rather than sharing a queue with everyone else's.
The forum
Discussion threads with a twist: tag a historical figure into a thread and they reply in character. Socrates will argue with you about it.

What is being built, what changed this week, and articles shared by whoever is around.

Where this site started. Play a ladder of historical figures from Socrates up to Napoleon, each at a different strength. Still here, still free.
Being built in the open
New parts arrive in batches, most weeks. Some of it is rough and it is honest about which parts.
Where this actually is. 3D User is early. The world builder works and worlds can be created, entered and built in, but there is not much built yet and some corners are unfinished. It is free, there is nothing to install, and it will stay free while it is being built. If you would rather wait until there is more to see, that is a fair call — the forum and the chess have been running for a while and are a good place to start meanwhile.
